Heirloom Puzzle

My name is Bob Wallace, and I live in Avon, Connecticut. I am retired.

Working with wood has been a life long leisure activity for me.  I have fond memories of the time spent learning woodworking skills from my own father.  One of those skills was learning to create and cut wooden puzzles with a jig saw that was old and  primitive; even in those days, and especially, when compared to the saws that are available today.

I cut my first puzzle as a child and, as my skills improved, as a young teenager; I was able to sell my puzzles locally, and as more people became aware of them; my puzzle business became quite busy. My puzzles were also sold through a local gift shop.  

While I retained an active interest in working with wood throughout my adult life, my puzzle making activities were limited to cutting occasional puzzles for family and friends.  With retirement, I decided to expand my puzzle making activities in a more structured manner, and it ihas now become a steady business, rather than a part time one. However, I am doing something that I enjoy, so I don't view it as being just "work."
